Father's Day and Life

So....Father's Day went really well I thought! Mason got Eric a baseball with his hand print on it, as well as a plate with his lovely art work all over it, and he got him a goody bag as well! We had a wonderfully fattening breakfast, and then a lovely sunny day with family :)

We have been doing well. I think that Eric and I are burnt out with school, because we are always so tired! We even had a little round of sickness coming around, and it is almost gone-Eric is now the only one plagued. We have signed up fro classes, and the Fall will be super busy, but it is our second to last semester so the light is at the end of the tunnel!!!!! We are starting to look for housing in Idaho Falls, for when Eric does his masters program at ISU, and we think we found a super nice, cute, and affordable town home! Eric just got a job for the 7 week break today-doing ground work at the school. I will be taking a class during our break, so that I can obtain my online teaching endorsement. Mason is a full fledged walker now, and has six teeth! Mason is such a joy and so fun right now-I cannot believe that he is turning one in a few short weeks :(
On another note, due to a class assignment it looks like I can finally get a start at writing my book! I am happy I have a little kick in the pants to actually start it!
GO ASU!

Mother's Day

So, yesterday was my first official Mother's Day :) It was amazing! I am very, very spoiled! My husband got up and made an awesome breakfast for me, and then my precious son "made" me this box/jewelry box that said 'MOM' on it, and had his beautiful chubby hand prints all over it, along with some awesome scribbles, and inside the box was some Sour Patch Kids-yum! My husband, and Mason, also gave me my favorite flowers (snap dragons) and they were beautiful! I then got to do nothing all day! It was so relaxing. Well, by nothing, I do mean we went to church, were our ward gave all the women these amazingly delicious cake pops! We then had Curtis, and my father-in-law over and Eric made dinner, and Father Peterson brought over a yummy rhubarb crisp (for those of you who do not know me too well, I LOVE RHUBARB), and my father-in-law also brought me a single pink rose-which was very pretty and thoughtful of him! Eric then cleaned everything up; all-in-all it was an awesome Mother's Day. I wouldn't be a mother without my husband, and with out my gorgeous son. I am so grateful for my little family; they put a smile on my face every day, and I thank God that they are in my life. I am so blessed.
The beautiful box that I will always cherish!
My beautiful flowers!

If you want a good laugh-watch Julian Smith-he gets me every time!

Much love,
Eric, Amanda, and Mason xoxo

Chalazion Removal

So, I had this bump in my eye for two years. It would not go away no matter what I did! I tried everything: washing the inside creases of my eyes with baby shampoo every night, warm compresses, massages...nope nothing. So I finally decided to get it removed. Upon consultation before the surgery/procedure (what every you what to call it); Dr. Fulmer said it looked more like scar tissue and maybe some fluid to drain. I had to the option to get some of the scar tissue removed along with drainage, and then I had the option to leave it....so I said get that thing outta there!!!!

I had several different ointments in my eye to numb it, and then a shot was give to numb it even more. My eye was very swollen because of that. The proceeded with the surgery, and after it all the cauterized part of it help the bleeding. After it was all aid and done they gave me an ointment to help prevent infection, and Eric went and bought me some ice cream! Have to give a shout out to my brother in law, Curtis, who watched Mason so Eric could go with me-thanks Curt!

The doctor said I will probably still have a bump-much smaller to where it will probably not be visible, but there was a lot of scar tissue so that is hard to get rid of.
My eye right after. It looks much worse than it is. Excuse the eyebrows-I need to get them waxed!
The ointment I have to use three times a day!

This is a video of what the surgery was like!

Much love,

New Year...and it has been awhile!

WOW! It has been forever since I blogged last, but I will try to start a new and do it again to keep our close family and friends informed about our life...if it interests anyone at all :)
Well I will give a little update:

First Precious Mason: What cannot I not say about Mason. He is awesome! He is such a cool kid, and has one big personality. He is always so happy and very social, and super smart! I will be the braggy mom and say that my son is going to be an earlier walker and is in the 90% + for his age group. I new fantastic trick (I will warn you people may be skeptics but it is true we have witnesses) Mason can say 'Jesus'. Yes that is right, he can say 'Jesus'. We will point to a picture and say "Say Jesus" and he will say 'Jesus'. I am going to catch him saying it on camera so all the skeptics can be corrected ;)

Now we will talk about Eric:
Eric is such a hunk! He is such a hard worker, and does succeeds at everything he does. He did a tax internship at a tax firm called, Henry and Horne, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was working 60+ hours a week and coming how from a long drive-completely exhausted. The partners at the firm said nothing but nice and wonderful things about hi, called him "The King of the 1099's" and told him to submit his resume when he graduates. Eric is planning on doing a MACC program (Masters in Accountancy) at ISU in Idaho Falls in the Fall of 2013. He is also in a super hard semester, and puts in long hours of study time, but his kickin' some serious trash.

Okay, I guess I will give an update on myself:
I have lost about 20-25lbs since Christmas. I endorse cardio-contact kickboxing; not only is it an amazing stress reliever, but it melts fat. I have a goal to loose about 7-10 more lbs, but we will see what happens! I am hoping so, though! I am in school still and taking a big work load all the time. Never have a break and I am always stress, but i put Mason first before my studies, and I have seen the Lord bless me, academically, because of that. I have always been a writer, I may be awful at it, but it soothes me.I have been planning, for a very very long time, to write a book or two or three. It is on my bucket list to get a book published. So I will be-this year-start the process of writing my very first book. I cannot give out too many secrets of what it will be about, but I hope it will inspire others.

That is all from the Peterson clan right now! Best wishes!
xoxo

Update

I have failed to update the blog for so long! Okay, well our lives are so hectic and crazy right now! We are both taking 15 credits this semester and on top of the Eric works three days a week, so I don't get to see him as much as I'd like to :( Eric is in the Accounting Society on campus, actually he is the head of the Advertising Committee and he does such a great job with it. Eric is loving his classes but they are very time consuming, most nights he is up until 2am just doing a homework assignment. I am so proud of him and grateful that he is such a hard worker. I am doing mostly online classes (except one which is on campus) and let me tell you-online classes are much more difficult then being on campus; it is very hard to try and get ahead to be prepared for Mason's arrival when there are 20 plus items due every single week. Mason is seeming to grow very well and he still remains very active-which to my demise means by rib cage is just his jungle gym and I feel like the bruises on my ribs will never go away. I might be getting induced (because of finals being so close to Mason's due date) the doctor said that would not be a problem, but we would talk about it as it gets closer-hopefully this Friday!!!! Currently Eric and I are watching my mother in laws dog...it is very different. We thought the dog would be very calm and relaxed (because she is like that at mom's house) but oh no she has showed a different side to her completely! She runs around all the time, barking at nothing, peeing/pooping on our carpet, and waking up at 4am! She seems to be getting better though and I think we might have trained her a little better, because she lets us know when she has to go outside to do "her business".  Well, that is pretty much our lives right now: always busy, stressed, trying to get ready for Mason, and stressed :) but we are loving life and so happy that it is starting to warm up!!!

May 17

As some may know my father passed away when I was right years old on Aug. 16, 1999. This past Tuesday would have been his 44th birthday. Words cannot describe how much I miss him and how much I wish he could be here. I wish that he could have meet Eric because I know that they would've gotten along so well! I love you and miss you daddy!

Ice Fishing

We went ice fishing today...my first time ice fishing.  In total we caught 14 fish in about an hour: 7 white fish and 7 trout. I caught three of those 14 =) two trout and one white fish. Eric caught two white fish, and Dad Peterson caught the rest. It was a blast and I can't wait to go again!

BABY BOY!

So, it is probably no surprise to anyone by now (because of Facebook etc) but we are having a baby boy! I really am sooo excited! At first I was a little disappointed because all the visions of princess, dresses, flowers, and huge bows left. Now I am way excited for cuddly mommas boy, and trucks, and just a rough and tumble little guy! Mommy and Daddy cannot wait to meet you little Mason LaMont Peterson! We feel so blessed to have you become part of our family; all I can hope and pray for now is that we will be the best parents we can be for you, and hopefully not embarrass you too much ;)

I promise to post pictures as soon as I can. We have also been to classes and have dropped some and have changed some things. Eric is now an Accounting major and he is minoring in....CIT! Our little nerd how cute <3 he is so very enthusiastic about it though and is loving it so far. As for me I am very stressed by my classes, but very excited because I am getting into some of my education classes and am just so thrilled and cant wait to be a teacher. Our classes are very hard though and we are very stressed....this will be one interesting semester!

Feelin' HUGE!

OK so I am ten weeks along....and I know I am not big or fat, but does that mean I cant feel like it?! I feel so big because all of my clothes are getting a little too snug for my taste! I am soooo use to being 120lbs-125lbs that being past that freaks me out. This is just something I am going to have to get use to I suppose. Hope this does not sound snotty or anything, because that's not how I want it to come across!!

Arizona...what mixed emotions

Well this has been our second time we have visited Arizona in the past few weeks. We went to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. The day before thanksgiving however my grandma passed away. She had been struggling with cancer for about five years now. It was extremely sad, and yet spiritual at the same time, because we know that she is in a better place, but then at the same time someone who I would consider to be one of the best people to grace this earth had to suffer and die (which is so sad because she was the last to deserve such an awful disease.) Anyways, we press forward and keep our chins up. The funeral will be held this coming Monday.
As for the rest of the trip it has been wonderful. Perfect weather, wonderful food, and Eric's bravery during black Friday shopping to get us our first TV! Which is such a funny story: He basically stood in line for four hours in front of Target just waiting in the cold. Then when the doors opened he took off running to find this TV (which was one of ten!). He jumped over shopping carts, and endured crude commentary from other shoppers =) whata  guy!!!

Our Life...

After coming back from Arizona our life has changed in several different ways. The least exciting is that we registered for school...and we both will have alot of work cut out for us. The second thing is, and by far the most exciting thing ever is that...Eric and I are having a baby!
Note that this is not the actual image but very similar to the one that was real!!
So...after I found out I went to the doctor to take another test there just in case, and that came up positive as well. So looks like our lives are gonna change just a little bit (ok a lot a bit). However, we are nothing but excited and can not wait to meet little baby! Now the wait to wether its a boy or a girl...If it is a girl the name will be Addison Ann Peterson, and if its a boy Mason Lamont Peterson.

Relay for life

We went to a relay for life, and we were on a team for my grandma beverly. She has been struggling with cancer for several years, and it has travled pretty much everywhere in here body, and is now in her spinal fluid. She is such a surivor and my hero!
WE had a blast though and are loving being in Arizona for some much needed R&R!

Our Little Family

Eric and I don't have children of our own yet, but we do have a new addition to our family! Her name is Cheetah. We adopted her from Pet Smart she is 2years old. She is a very sweet cat and loves to be brushed, and has a freakishly loud purr. She is kinda weird though. She likes to pretend like she is going to attack you, and then grabs your hand with both of her paws and puts your hand on the top of her to pet her, she is kinda  demanding in that way. We do love our demanding high maintence cat though!

Our Story

Eric and I both attend BYU-Idaho. We both happened to be in the same housing! We were even in the same FHE group. One day there was a huge group FHE and I was playing fusbol and Eric came up and started to play (cheat). Then he asked if anyone wanted to get a Dr. Pepper with him, no one answered so I said "sure I'll go". So we went and got a drink at the Maverick and then he decided we were gonna go get ice cream. Then we sat and talked for over an hour! Then he got up even more courage to ask me on a date. I said yes, and then later called him back to cancel, because "something came up". I had blown him off for another date. I instantly felt guilty and called him to reschedule, but he had another date. Then he called me back to say ok we will go. Come to find out that he canceled his for me =). So we went on our first date. Me made pizza, and then went out with a group to the corn maze. He basically took me there so that he could hold my hand! Then we kept hanging out from there. We did severally library dates, and after one of them I asked if I could kiss him, and luckily he said "Sure". Then we kept going on from there! We started dating and falling in love! We had to do a long distance relationship for an entire semester! Eric came and visited me two times (best weekends of my life!) Then he picked me up from the airport and it was like we had never left each other! Then about a week or so later Eric had this nice big saturday planned for us! I woke up to flowers on my desk with a note say, "Good morning I made breakfast get up and get ready then come over. I love you." My gracious roommates (who knew what was happening) dolled me up. I went over to a delicious breakfast. Then Eric took me to a nail place in Idaho Falls. He left while I was getting a very nice manicure (which he paid for). Then we went and walked around the mall. Then we went out to dinner at the Olive Garden. Then he took me for a walk by the Falls, and as we walked I saw one single red rose on a rock! Eric went down and picked it up and gave it to me, got down on one knee and said "Amanda I love you so much will you marry me?" Of course by this point in time I was about to ball and I said through my tears, "Yes! OK! SURE!" I then gave him the biggest kiss ever! While all of this was happening our friend Taylor Miller was taking pictures of the entire thing! Then we got married three months later =)
