Father's Day and Life

So....Father's Day went really well I thought! Mason got Eric a baseball with his hand print on it, as well as a plate with his lovely art work all over it, and he got him a goody bag as well! We had a wonderfully fattening breakfast, and then a lovely sunny day with family :)

We have been doing well. I think that Eric and I are burnt out with school, because we are always so tired! We even had a little round of sickness coming around, and it is almost gone-Eric is now the only one plagued. We have signed up fro classes, and the Fall will be super busy, but it is our second to last semester so the light is at the end of the tunnel!!!!! We are starting to look for housing in Idaho Falls, for when Eric does his masters program at ISU, and we think we found a super nice, cute, and affordable town home! Eric just got a job for the 7 week break today-doing ground work at the school. I will be taking a class during our break, so that I can obtain my online teaching endorsement. Mason is a full fledged walker now, and has six teeth! Mason is such a joy and so fun right now-I cannot believe that he is turning one in a few short weeks :(
On another note, due to a class assignment it looks like I can finally get a start at writing my book! I am happy I have a little kick in the pants to actually start it!
GO ASU!

Mother's Day

So, yesterday was my first official Mother's Day :) It was amazing! I am very, very spoiled! My husband got up and made an awesome breakfast for me, and then my precious son "made" me this box/jewelry box that said 'MOM' on it, and had his beautiful chubby hand prints all over it, along with some awesome scribbles, and inside the box was some Sour Patch Kids-yum! My husband, and Mason, also gave me my favorite flowers (snap dragons) and they were beautiful! I then got to do nothing all day! It was so relaxing. Well, by nothing, I do mean we went to church, were our ward gave all the women these amazingly delicious cake pops! We then had Curtis, and my father-in-law over and Eric made dinner, and Father Peterson brought over a yummy rhubarb crisp (for those of you who do not know me too well, I LOVE RHUBARB), and my father-in-law also brought me a single pink rose-which was very pretty and thoughtful of him! Eric then cleaned everything up; all-in-all it was an awesome Mother's Day. I wouldn't be a mother without my husband, and with out my gorgeous son. I am so grateful for my little family; they put a smile on my face every day, and I thank God that they are in my life. I am so blessed.
The beautiful box that I will always cherish!
My beautiful flowers!

If you want a good laugh-watch Julian Smith-he gets me every time!

Much love,
Eric, Amanda, and Mason xoxo

Chalazion Removal

So, I had this bump in my eye for two years. It would not go away no matter what I did! I tried everything: washing the inside creases of my eyes with baby shampoo every night, warm compresses, massages...nope nothing. So I finally decided to get it removed. Upon consultation before the surgery/procedure (what every you what to call it); Dr. Fulmer said it looked more like scar tissue and maybe some fluid to drain. I had to the option to get some of the scar tissue removed along with drainage, and then I had the option to leave it....so I said get that thing outta there!!!!

I had several different ointments in my eye to numb it, and then a shot was give to numb it even more. My eye was very swollen because of that. The proceeded with the surgery, and after it all the cauterized part of it help the bleeding. After it was all aid and done they gave me an ointment to help prevent infection, and Eric went and bought me some ice cream! Have to give a shout out to my brother in law, Curtis, who watched Mason so Eric could go with me-thanks Curt!

The doctor said I will probably still have a bump-much smaller to where it will probably not be visible, but there was a lot of scar tissue so that is hard to get rid of.
My eye right after. It looks much worse than it is. Excuse the eyebrows-I need to get them waxed!
The ointment I have to use three times a day!

This is a video of what the surgery was like!

Much love,

New Year...and it has been awhile!

WOW! It has been forever since I blogged last, but I will try to start a new and do it again to keep our close family and friends informed about our life...if it interests anyone at all :)
Well I will give a little update:

First Precious Mason: What cannot I not say about Mason. He is awesome! He is such a cool kid, and has one big personality. He is always so happy and very social, and super smart! I will be the braggy mom and say that my son is going to be an earlier walker and is in the 90% + for his age group. I new fantastic trick (I will warn you people may be skeptics but it is true we have witnesses) Mason can say 'Jesus'. Yes that is right, he can say 'Jesus'. We will point to a picture and say "Say Jesus" and he will say 'Jesus'. I am going to catch him saying it on camera so all the skeptics can be corrected ;)

Now we will talk about Eric:
Eric is such a hunk! He is such a hard worker, and does succeeds at everything he does. He did a tax internship at a tax firm called, Henry and Horne, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was working 60+ hours a week and coming how from a long drive-completely exhausted. The partners at the firm said nothing but nice and wonderful things about hi, called him "The King of the 1099's" and told him to submit his resume when he graduates. Eric is planning on doing a MACC program (Masters in Accountancy) at ISU in Idaho Falls in the Fall of 2013. He is also in a super hard semester, and puts in long hours of study time, but his kickin' some serious trash.

Okay, I guess I will give an update on myself:
I have lost about 20-25lbs since Christmas. I endorse cardio-contact kickboxing; not only is it an amazing stress reliever, but it melts fat. I have a goal to loose about 7-10 more lbs, but we will see what happens! I am hoping so, though! I am in school still and taking a big work load all the time. Never have a break and I am always stress, but i put Mason first before my studies, and I have seen the Lord bless me, academically, because of that. I have always been a writer, I may be awful at it, but it soothes me.I have been planning, for a very very long time, to write a book or two or three. It is on my bucket list to get a book published. So I will be-this year-start the process of writing my very first book. I cannot give out too many secrets of what it will be about, but I hope it will inspire others.

That is all from the Peterson clan right now! Best wishes!
xoxo
